Shiftmere

Shiftmere is a drag racing game on a quarter-mile strip by a lake at night. Hold to rev while the start lights count down and keep the needle in the launch band when they turn green; too few revs bog the car down and too many spin the wheels. Then tap to shift: every gear has a green window on the tachometer, and a perfect shift is quicker and gives a short push. One bottle of nitro per race decides close finishes. Prize money, even from a lost race, buys engine, turbo, gearbox, tyre and nitro upgrades in the garage, and eight rivals wait, each faster and better at shifting than the last. It plays in the browser with one button for touch, mouse or keyboard, in English or Bulgarian.
